My January 2017 Faves

My January 2017 Faves

As it’s the last Wednesday of the month, I’ve decided to post the first of twelve monthly ‘favourite’ blogs. A common topic on YouTube, y monthly ‘favourites’ are essentially a list of my favourite items or things from each month! It’ll include films/TV shows I’ve enjoyed, favourite items from my wardrobe, my favourite cosmetic products and other things I’ve enjoyed this month! It’s also a great way for me to look back on the things next January that I was loving a year ago! Without further ado, here’s a list of my January faves:

ASOS Quilted Lock Cross Body Bag

This gem has become my go-to bag for just about every occasion! It’s big enough for me to carry all my essentials around, but not too big to become a problem if I’m out shopping and need to carry lots of shopping bags! It’s also super stylish so is great for using when I go out in the evenings! I picked this up for £15 from ASOS.

Missguided Grey Chicago Slogan Cropped Hoodie

Whilst browsing the Missguided January sale, I simply couldn’t resist buying this cute cropped hoodie. It was only £9, is so soft and fleecy on the inside making it really warm and looks great with any outfit!

Select Red Fur-Lined Bomber Jacket

This jacket is SO fluffy and warm inside, and is a great addition to my wardrobe. I grabbed this beauty for £15 on sale, it fits great and looks especially great with all black outfits!

Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

If you have a Netflix account, or an account on any social media, there’s a pretty high chance you’ve heard about Netflix’s new original series, based on the popular children’s book series A Series of Unfortunate Events. I read the first few of these books when I was younger and I adored them, I’m not sure exactly why I never finished them but watching the show has definitely made me want to revisit them. The first series has 8 episodes that are about an hour in length, each of which are incredibly entertaining. Definitely one to watch!

Sing Street

As an avid fan of all things 80s, when I first watched the trailer for John Carney’s 2016 film Sing Street, I couldn’t wait to see it! I only managed to get around to watching it at the start of this month and I wasn’t disappointed; Sing Street is a truly heart-warming story, and definitely one I’ll be purchasing on Blu-ray to enjoy again.

I See You – The xx

I’ve been a fan of The xx since I first heard their debut album in 2009. I was thrilled when I found out that they were releasing a third album at the end of last year, and I’ve been listening to it non-stop since its release this month. The album stays true to the bands older music, but still feels fresh and new.

Cosmetics & Beauty

Freedom Makeup Glycolic Radiance Tonic

I picked up this glow tonic last year, as I’d heard some excellent reviews and it was a great price at only £6. I have quite fussy skin, so I wasn’t sure how well this product would work, but after a few months of using it my complexion is noticeably brighter and clearer! It works wonders and will definitely be part of my daily skincare routine from now on!

Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray

Bored of my natural straight hair, I needed a cheap solution to give me some volume and texture that wouldn’t require heat or a lot of time to apply. Sea salt spray is a beauty must-have, it’s great for providing loose waves and with some heatless curling using braids or a headband, can leave you with gorgeous long-lasting curls all day! This spray by Toni & Guy was only £5 from Superdrug.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic Elements

I was given this palette for Christmas and have been using it almost daily since! It contains absolutely perfect nude & brown colours for my casual smokey eye, and the darker shades are excellent for a more glam look. This palette is only £4 so definitely worth picking up if you’re a fan of the brand!

My Adventure Scrapbook from Pixar’s UP

As far as I’m aware, this isn’t official Pixar merchandise, but it sure is adorable! I got this scrapbook from Amazon for just under £17, and it came with a cute pack of coloured gel pens, some craft scissors and stickers, and also some cute UP stickers and postcards. I adore Pixar, especially UP so when I saw this on Amazon I couldn’t resist getting it! It’ll be a great place to keep a record of all the places I go to this year.
