Hey blog readers! This week’s post is sort of the first part of a two-part series about wardrobe updating and clearing-out. This week I’ll be focusing on a few things I’m obsessed with at the minute that I’m dying to add more of to my wardrobe, and also some of my favourite trends at the minute.
I was always worried culottes would make my legs look really chunky, but after trying some on I instantly fell in love. They are so comfy and can be worn for almost any occasion. I got this pair from boohoo on sale, and they’re a little bit more formal than some of the other pairs in my wishlist, but could easily be worn with a plain shirt for a casual look.
The funny thing about my obsession with this trend is that I previously despised frills. They always reminded me of baby clothes, but recently I’ve been seeing frills everywhere and some of them aren’t that bad! I’m still against really OTT frills, but I’m really loving tops or dresses with a bit of subtle frilly detailing. I have a few basic frill tops currently, one a black bodysuit from Missguided and another bodysuit from Select which has some gorgeous lace-up detailing. I definitely want to add more frills to my wardrobe.
I’ve wanted some slightly more formal flat shoes for a while since pretty much all I owned was trainers, and got so excited when I saw that loafers and mules were trending this season. I got this pair of really cute loafers from boohoo that I can’t stop wearing, and I really want to get some faux fur lined mules that I’ve been seeing literally all over Instagram.
This is a slightly weird addiction, but definitely a worthwhile one. It took me by surprise when I realised how much I loved scrunchies, they’re a super cute hair accessory that have pretty much changed the way I wear my hair on a daily basis. They’re also really cheap, I got a three pack of scrunchies from boohoo for just £1!
Last but not least, another great trend for Spring is embroidery. It’s such a simple trend, but it’s also really elegant and a great way to add a bit of subtle texture and pattern to an outfit. I got this really cute embroidered shirt from New Look (similar top is linked) that’s really chic and perfect for any occasion, and also this bodysuit from Select with a mesh panel at the top.
