Hey beauty lovers! Day one of ten for the Beauty Brawl reviews is a liquid lipstick! I was hoping to have some ColourPop lipsticks to review today, but unfortunately I’d spent over my budget and therefore decided to review a cheaper liquid lipstick; MUA’s Velvet Lip Lacquers! I have featured these before on my blog, but never gave them a proper review and after picking up a couple more colours decided to do some swatches and explain my thoughts on these lipsticks in greater detail.
The packaging for these lipsticks is super cute and classy; from the gorgeous fonts to the gold detailing on the lids; these lipsticks really look a lot more expensive than they are! The lipsticks have a doe-foot applicator which is pretty standard for liquid lipsticks, and makes them super easy to apply too.
These lipsticks are £3, which is an incredible price compared to more high end lipsticks which can range from £15-20!
One criticism I have regarding the lipsticks is that they are a lot more creamier and less drying that you’d expect from a velvet lip. Given time they do dry out to a good standard, but I would prefer a velvet lip to dry a bit faster than this so I don’t have to worry about it rubbing off! The pigmentation is really good, and the colours don’t change much after drying which is always a good quality. They are very easy to remove, which could be a positive and a negative; on one hand, they won’t stain your lips or require lots of scrubbing with a specialist remover to take off, but they are more likely to come off when eating or drinking.
Overall I think these lipsticks are superb quality, and although the formula could dry a little quicker the pigmentation is great and the packaging also makes these worth the cost! Here’s my scores for these lipsticks:
