I Heart Makeup Lip Lava & Molten Chocolate Lipstick Review & Swatches

I Heart Makeup Lip Lava & Molten Chocolate Lipstick Review & Swatches

I recently saw a swatch video for I Heart Makeup London’s Molten Chocolate Lip Lavas on the Makeup Revolution YouTube Channel and instantly went over to tambeauty.com to pick some up. I also saw that the brand’s original Lip Lava bundle was on offer for just £7.50, which is half price! I decided to get three of the Molten Chocolate lipsticks and the entire original Lip Lava bundle, which is eight lipsticks in total.

The formula of these lipsticks is honestly one of my favourite formulas to date, if you haven’t guessed they are a very close dupe of Too Faced’s popular Melted Matte lipsticks. I haven’t tried Too Faced’s lipsticks, but after looking at comparison swatches I’d much rather buy these Lip Lavas – for just £2.99 each they’re clearly much better value & are super pigmented!

The Lip Lavas have a sponge applicator tip; making these super easy to apply. The formula doesn’t dry to be completely matte, and are more like very pigmented glosses or satin lipsticks, which I actually prefer as they aren’t too hard to remove but still stay on for most of the day.

I hope I Heart London/TAM Beauty plan to expand the original range, as I’d love to see more of these vibrant colours in the future. These are absolutely perfect for everyday wear, but the brighter shades like Shockwave and Unleash would be perfect for more glam/extravagant looks.

The three Molten Chocolate lipsticks I picked up also didn’t disappoint; although the formula was a little inconsistent for these – my I Heart Chocolate lipstick was a lot runnier than the other two, but this can sometimes happen with different shades and it’s still good quality so I wasn’t overly concerned by this difference.

The best thing about these is that they actually smell like chocolate! I love it when my lipsticks smell good instead of smelling like a lab; and given their name their chocolate scent makes perfect sense.

Below are some swatches of these lipsticks with their individual shade names; sorry the quality isn’t too fantastic as this was taken from my Instagram story, but I felt it would be good for you to get an idea of the colour of each lipstick.

Overall I’m really impressed with the quality of these especially considering the price, and I’ll probably be buying more in the future.

Naked chocolate and salted caramel look so cute! Am always drawn to these in the shop but haven’t made the move to pick one up yet. I might give them a try now that I’m sort of branching out from the matte lip trend!

They are so good, I definitely recommend them for an every day lipstick but the brighter shades are great as well if you want to be more adventurous! ☺️
