A Valentine’s Gift Guide

A Valentine’s Gift Guide

We’re officially into February, and Valentine’s is fast approaching. I’m not a huge fan of commercial holidays, but I’m a sucker for romance and can’t wait to spend this V-Day with my boyfriend. With only a week to go, I thought I’d put together a quick gift guide featuring some great gifts for your s/o, or to treat yourself with if you prefer!

Timeless Beauty…

I had tried any products from Joan Collin’s Timeless Beauty collection before; but had always admired her luxe packaging and branding. I got sent a couple of her lipsticks to test out recently, and was super impressed by the quality of the formula and the pigmentation – I got one of her Divine Lips Lipsticks in the shade Evelyn, which was super hydrating to my lips and so smooth, and the formula is really long lasting. I also tried her Glorious Gloss Lip Gloss in the shade Monte Carlo, which is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s being a sparkling deep red. This made my lips look a lot fuller, and adds instant glamour to any makeup look. I think these lipsticks would make a perfect gift for a loved one this Valentine’s, especially if you’re on a budget or prefer to give smaller gifts. Joan Collin’s lipsticks and glosses are all £18, and can be found at M&S, QVC or directly from the Timeless Beauty website.

Soak Up Some Suds…

The lovely folks over at Lush kindly sent me a few of their Valentine’s products to try out this year, and as always I’m so obsessed with their range. The products I got sent were their Cherryish Body Scrub, Love Boat Bath Bomb, Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar, Kiss Me Quick Wash Card and Tender Is The Night Shower Cream. The most intriguing of the products I was sent was easily the wash card; unfortunately one of the edges was snapped off so I recommend picking one of these up in store to avoid breakages, but the cards smell great and are a great alternative to using bulky soaps in the shower. I also really love the bath products I was sent, Unicorn Horn has been a favourite of mine for a while now and the new bath bomb Love Boat is such a cute and unique new bomb. The body scrub and shower cream both smell delightful, and I really love that Lush have ditched their plastic packaging for the cream and made it a bar. If you’re in a fairly new relationship, I think Lush is a really safe option for gifts, and they even have pre-wrapped gift sets to make it twice as easy to find a great present this Valentine’s! Escape To Paradise…

My main gift to my boyfriend this year is a couple of nights in a luxury hotel and spa. Whether you choose a city break abroad, or a local hotel – a few days away from home with your other half is always a great gift to give. You can also split the cost between you and make it a gift to and from the both of you – saves you money and the stress of trying to find the perfect gift, since everyone loves a good break.

Shine Bright…

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and I’ve never met a man who doesn’t appreciate his own sparkle. Whether you’re buying your beau some shiny new earrings or a flash new watch, it’s guaranteed to put a smile on their face. I love getting jewellery from a variety of places, but one of my faves is Stella & Dot! You can read some more about my fave jewellery brands in this post.

T-Shirt – SheIn // Skirt – Boohoo // Trainers – New Look

Dress To Impress…

A fresh outfit is always a winner no matter the occasion – treat your other half to a romantic date night this year with an outfit styled by you to make them feel truly pampered and special. Alternatively, bag yourself some new garms for V-Day and go on a Galentine’s date with your bestie!

Under The Sheets…

It’s basically a universal fact that there’s nothing better than new underwear or lingerie to make you feel good about yourself. It also makes a good joke present; this year I picked up some slightly obnoxious boxers for my other half from Boohoo, which he is 100% only allowed to wear on Valentine’s from now on.

These are lovely ideas Emma! My man and I aren’t doing anything crazy for valentines this year – probably just a dinner and a movie – but we are planning on booking a trip somewhere for our anniversary in May!
