A Skincare Routine From & For A Lazy Lass

A Skincare Routine From & For A Lazy Lass

You know the situation; you get home from work or school/college, and you really cannot be bothered to spend half an hour removing makeup, cleansing, masking. moisturising, toning… well, the list could truly go on. Those things are all a fun break at the weekend, but after a long day, the last thing you want to do is stand in front of a mirror sorting out your face. Thus, I present to ye Lazy Skincare Lovers of the world; A Lazy Skincare Routine.

Remove Makeup & Cleanse

So, this is the most important step in a routine, really. The easiest and most cost effective way to complete this step is, in my opinion, face wipes. It’s important to choose wipes that are good to your skin, my favourites at the minute are Superdrug’s Micellar Wipes, as they do a great job at removing any makeup and dirt, but don’t leave my skin feeling raw.

I’d say, scientifically speaking, moisturising probably won’t save you from wrinkles in 30 years. Cats out of the bag. You can therefore probably skip this step, but if like me your skin is dryer than the Sahara most days, it’s probably a good idea to use a moisturiser of some kind before you apply makeup and after you take it off. My favourite moisturising duo at the minute is The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Moisture Cream & Night Cream. TBS’ Vitamin E range is huge, and there’s loads of hydrating products to choose from – if you fancy an overall moisturiser I recommend their Intense Moisture Cream.

Again, I’m not sure this stuff will ever have a long lasting effect on your skin. But in present day, I consider it a pretty vital end-step in my routine. After moisturising, my skin feels great again, but I like using toner as a finishing touch to give it back its natural texture and tone. My go-to toner is Freedom Makeup’s Glycolic Acid Toner; it’s perfect for fixing any imperfections in my skin without causing any breakouts or blemishes.

And there you have it! 3 products, 3 steps, super affordable and easy. What products do you use in your everyday skincare routine? Leave me a comment below and let me know! Still in need of some skincare pick me ups? Check out my gal Chloe’s post about saviour products for dry skin!

This is perfect for me! Atm I basically just take my makeup off, wash my face and put cream on. I’m soo lazy when It comes to skin care. That being said I also don’t believe that using tons of products is really necessary or healthy (considering all the chemicals used), so this simplified routine is great!

Thanks for commenting! I definitely agree, whilst I love occasionally using different serums and face masks on pamper days, I definitely think having a simple routine like this is much better for the skin!

I used to have such a complicated skincare routine that I often never actually did it! Praise the lord for micellar water! x

I definitely relate to that! It’s just too much effort after about a week!

I know some people prefer to do it before as some toners do remove moisture, but I’ve always found it helps to make my skin feel less heavy after moisturising! It’s all about skin types – people should defo switch the steps around if it helps them! 🙂
