One of my biggest summer struggles is keeping my hair soft, bouncy and fresh when it’s super hot. More moisture and oils form from our scalps in high humidity, which means people with fine, straight hair will often find it going flat pretty fast when the temperature gets any higher than 20! The lovely people over at Anatomicals* kindly sent me their Sea Salt Shampoo and Seaweed Conditioner to try out to see if it could help my hair stay silky and revitalised during the warmer months.
About The Duo
The packaging for the shampoo and conditioner is a simple blue tub, with Anatomicals’ traditional logo and typeface, with a funky quote name for each; And We’ve Sea Sea’d You Too Sea Salt Shampoo & From Horrific To Pacific Seaweed Conditioner. Each tub comes with a small applicator spatula to allow easier application, but I personally found that applying a small amount of each with my hands worked fine too. You can purchase them both from ASOS.
Sea Salt Shampoo, £6.50
I’ve been using this for a week now, and the difference in the volume and texture of my hair is amazing! In terms of long-term use, I can see this making a huge difference to someone’s regular haircare routine. The main ingredient, sea salt, helps to lift hair from the roots, giving the overall appearance a boosted, bouncier look. Almond oil helps to keep hair soft and smooth, whilst the addition of lemon juice keeps hair shiny and clean, and makes the shampoo smell great! Despite being chunkier than traditional shampoos due to its sea salt and seaweed combination, the shampoo is easy to apply, lather and wash out.
Seaweed Conditioner, £7.50
Similarly, Anatomicals’ Seaweed conditioner boasts a great ingredient list that aims to boost, brighten and replenish hair. This would be a great conditioner for damaged hair, due to its moisturising properties that help protect the scalp and make hair softer. It’s natural ingredients like seaweed help provide additional volume, much like its sister shampoo, but also helps keep flyaway strands in place and prevents frizz!
