If you haven’t heard from my loud boasting on social media or my previous posts, I’m going to Disneyland Paris next month! I haven’t been to a Disney park since I was about ten, and I’m super excited to revisit my childhood & experience the magic! However, now that I’m a bit older and wiser (and don’t have a parent to take care of me!) I’ve been thinking pretty hard about what essentials I’ll need to take with me for my Disney adventures, and I thought I’d share my own Disney survival kit; a collection of must-haves for your Disney day bag!
The Mini Medi-Kit
Basically keep one of these with me whenever I know I’m going to be out and on my feet for a long time. A mini-medi kit is basically all the stuff you’d find in a regular first aid kit, but simplified for minor emergencies only! Mine always contains painkillers, because you never know when a killer headache will show up; plasters, because nobody likes getting nasty blisters when they’re taking selfies with Princesses! And I also like to keep a small pack of baby wipes or antiseptic wipes – because they’re just as essential for clumsy adults as they are for messy children, I got a small pack of ten from H&M for a bargain and they take up hardly any space in my bag!
Pale girls, you already know you can’t leave the house in the summer without emergency suncream, but I recommend taking a small bottle into Disney for everyone; keeping your skin safe is a huge priority when you’re probably going to be walking around with skin exposed on a hot day in a Disney Park! Plus, everyone secretly loves the smell of the stuff, right? I’m taking this fab powdered sunscreen from Lush – it’s super handy for on-the-go application and offers great protection!
It’s absolutely positively crucial to stay hydrated whilst in Disney. Even if you’re going to Paris on a rainy day, you need to take some bottle water with you that can be easily refilled! My personal preference in water bottles is Chilly’s Bottles, they’re made from stainless steel and are designed to keep your water chilled for 24 hours – perfect for staying hydrated! I currently have a medium sized bottle, but will likely pick up one of their smaller 260ml bottles to make refilling on the go a lot easier. They come in a bunch of cute patterns and colours, and can be reused as often as you like, which makes them loads better for the environment than crappy plastic bottles!
As well as getting super thirsty from all that wandering around and experiencing all the magic, you’re guaranteed to get pretty hungry. If you’re doing Disney on a budget, you should definitely pack some snacks in your day bag so you don’t have to crack open your wallet every time you feel a bit peckish! I personally keep most of my snacks in small tupperware to prevent any spillages (because nobody wants their Mickey Mouse shaped backpack to get covered in crumbs!)
Wandering around a park all day can get pretty sweaty, let’s be honest. And nobody wants to go and meet their childhood heroes smelling like a dumpster, so I’m packing my favourite Lush body spray to take with me on my Disney trip; Dad’s Garden Lemon Tree. This stuff smells so incredible, the scent lasts ages and it’s so natural and refreshing! The bottle has a super fun design and is thin, making it easy to pack into a small backpack.
